Introduction

Earlier in the week DoubleTake secured The Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow as a client. The brief was to create an animation that will be projected onto the Hotel on the 26th of April.

The Animation had to show the history of the hotel and meet the businesses value of “coming together”.

Process

The first part of my role in helping, is cutting out the photos required, then working on the creative itself.

I have been tasked with creating the opening scene on photoshop — basing it off an old train ticket from the station.

Feedback

Overall I’m really pleased with this, I kept to the brief ad created an interesting visual which I can’t wait to see projected.

The plan is, that ill shadow the other designers and learn more After Effects through that .

This week we were working on and ink blot project for a projection at the St James centre.

The idea was to create motion with ink, water, alcohol and whatever else we could think of.

Conclusion

This project was a lot of fun to be a part of, it shows the variety of wokr you can fiond yourself doing as a designer.

Another role i saw that i think would be a good fit for me was a Rugby Podcast “The Good, The Bad and the Rugby” were looking for a part-time designer, ideal for me!

I thought using an infographic would be smart as it would promote discussion and interaction on the podcasts social media.

They really liked this edit and are in fact planning to use it this weekend!

After the positive experience of the Rangers job application I decided to apply for some more roles that i’ve seen around.

One of the jobs I saw was the Scottish FA looking for illustrators for the EURO squad announcement.

This week I was given confirmation that I am in the final 3 for the Rangers Graphic Design role.

They sent an email with a brief and images for me to use.

The brief was to create Social media branding for the MyGers fan subscription, showing a range of my work and in-situ mock ups, all well presented.

Rangers wanted projections showing different images of their league win, placed throughout Glasgow on the day that it was announced they won the title.

I was given the task of creating a banner that would be projected at the Riverside museum in Glasgow.
